Distance 5km, 1.5 hours
A short and quite strenous walk that passes through the hamlet of Clèbes and descends to the Bisse de Salins, before climbing steeply back up to Veysonnaz.  The route follows a short section of the Bisse de Salins with a bridge crossing that should be avoided by vertigo sufferers!

1. Turn left at the main door of the apartment building (Mont Rouge), and follow the road for a few hundred metres through the resort to the road junction just past the Greppon Blanc restaurant.  At the junction bear left uphill - follow the yellow signpost for "Bisse de Vex".

2. After a couple of hundred metres uphill the road levels, and a few hundred metres on turn right along a track, signposted "Bisse de Vex".  The path soon crosses the road to Verrey - continue along the path by the Bisse.  Around a hundred metres after crossing the road, turn right down the hill on a small path (signposted "
Clèbes") - the path leads down the hill into the hamlet of Clèbes.  At the church in Clèbes, continue straight on down the hill, following the yellow signposts for "Beuson".

3. The path leads down through meadows to join a larger track.  Pass two ruined barns then turn left onto a small path that winds more steeply down through the dry meadows to the Bisse de Salins.  This Bisse traverses the slope at an altitude of about 1,100m, almost 300m lower than Veysonnaz - so enjoy the next level section before the uphill starts!

4. Turn left along the Bisse de Salins at the yellow signposts, and follow the path as it traverses the steep side of the L'Ojintse valley.  Soon the path reaches a bridge, where the Bisse crosses over the valley in a metal trough, and the path crosses on a narrow wooden walkway - see the photo on the right.  Take care crossing the bridge - the valley is quite deep.  After crossing the bridge the Bisse continues through the forest - a few hundred metres after the bridge, turn left across the Bisse and follow a small path as it climbs up through the forest (watch for the yellow sign).

5. The path climbs up steeply through the woods, then soon levels off as it joins a larger track and traverses high above the L'Ojintse valley through mature forest.  The track soon reaches a bridge across the valley (slightly wider than the previous bridge) - cross the bridge then follow the track up through the meadows to reach the church at Clèbes.

6. Continue along the road straight on past the church, following the yellow signs for Veysonnaz.  At the bus stop bear right uphill along the road - after a couple of hundred metres there is a right hairpin bend in the road.  About twenty metres past the hairpin, a path turns sharp left uphill from the road.  Follow this path across a grassy slope - it soon joins a small road, which leads up to the junction at the Greppon Blanc restaurant.  From here it is a short walk through the resort back to Mont Rouge.
