Distance 6km, 1.5 hours
A gentle walk with not too many hills along the Bisse de Vex, then through forest and meadows to the hamlet of Verrey and back to Veysonnaz.  There are fantastic views along most of the route.

1. Turn left at the main door of the apartment building (Mont Rouge), and follow the road for a few hundred metres through the resort to the road junction just past the Greppon Blanc restaurant.  At the junction bear left uphill - follow the yellow signpost for "Bisse de Vex".

2. After a couple of hundred metres uphill the road levels, and a few hundred metres on turn right along a track, signposted "Bisse de Vex".  The path soon crosses the road to Verrey - continue along the path by the Bisse.

3. For the next kilometre, the path runs alongside the bisse as it passes through the meadows and to a metal bridge crossing the "L'Ojintse" stream.

4. Cross the bridge and follow the bisse for a further 500 metres, through forest and then meadows to the small collection of buildings at Le Chity.  The section through the meadows has spectacular views across the valley to Nendaz and beyond - this is a good place to stop a while and relax.  The path meets a forest road that crosses the bisse at Le Chity.

5. Turn sharp left onto the forest road (heading uphill).  After about 100 metres, at a right hairpin bend, turn left onto a forest path that heads uphill through the trees towards Verrey.  Follow the path for about 500 metres until it reaches a forest road just before the road fords the "L'Ojintse" stream.  Turn left along the forest road and cross the stream - there is a small plank bridge so you should be able to keep your feet dry.

6. Follow the road as it leads around the hillside (again with spectacular view across the valley) through meadows to the hamlet of Verrey.  At Verrey follow the road downhill towards Clèbes for about 200 metres, then turn right (at a sign for one of the mountain bike routes) onto a small path.

7.  Follow the small path as it traverses across the hillside to reach a road at a hairpin bend.  Turn left onto the road which leads back down into Veysonnaz, joining the outward route at the "Bisse de Vex".  Keep following the road which in a few minutes leads back to the resort centre.
